Rustic Wine and Cheese Bridal Shower

I love making something look great without spending much.

I buy as much food as I can and spend a little extra time cutting, cooking and baking not spending extra in ready to serve. It does cause me to spend more time in the kitchen, but it does save money.

The Menu
 Fruit plate of Pears, Figs and Grapes

 Anti-pasta platter was olives, squash, zucinne, mushrooms. carrot sticks, red and yellow bell pepper, steamed asparagus, garlic, deli meat slices from Trader Jo's . I used the Good Season Italian dry mix salad dressing and soaked the veggies and deli meat for 3 to 4 hours.

 Homemade Wheat Bread with dipping oil. I bought a bread machine at a yard sale one of the best items I've every purchased.

I served a variety of wine (Trader Jo's) and wrapped them and made tags for them. I also stamped each bag with a sweet little phrase. I feel its these small touches that go along way with guest.

I went to Trader Joe's and bought a variety of Cheeses & Cracker and sweet wafer cookies. A beautiful and tasty treat was the Roasted Figs with Goat Cheese drizzled with local honey.

 Love the idea of using a wine bottle to decorate with. I used chalk board paint to write the cheese and wine pairings on. Used fresh sage from my herb garden to fill bottle.Those runners are burlap bags from Tractor Supply .99 each. I also slide them over the back my chairs, for chair covers.

 I had several food stations set up on the back deck to keep everyone moving about. Large food cans work great for decorating. I save them in all sizes they are so versatile. Served a Savory Harvest Strudel That was great.

 I use as many elements from my yard as I can. Also the lantern and wood trey came from Goodwill. I love to shop there for all kinds of items.

Little charms $5.00 added a great personal touch to your wine glass.

 I picked up the tea cart at an antique store and the iron board at Goodwill. I use them year round on my back deck. The ironing board is the perfect height for a serving table.

 This gold ICE BUCKET is another one of my Goodwill finds that I love. Bought corks to make another arrangement with Grass from the yard, but if you save your corks.... again you can work on a budget. AS the bride to be opened gifts I served a very simple dessert, cream cheese stuffed dates.



I love a Painters Drop cloth. I made the curtains on my deck with them. I also use them as table cloths and cut them up for runners and chair runners. So practical.
